The exact process will depend on the hosting you buy, but I will cover the process on Stablehost in this book. If my recommendation is no longer Stablehost, then look on the recommended page above, and I’ll cover a guide on how to sign up for my recommended host.
OK, back to Stablehost. On the web hosting page, which you can access from the menu across the top, you can sign up for hosting:
I recommend you use the Starter plan, to begin with. If your site becomes very popular, or you decide to build other sites, you can always upgrade to a more comprehensive plan when you need to.

Select the option to use your existing domain as this one lets you use a different registrar. Enter the domain name and the extension in the box provided. Click the Next button to view your cart.
Web hosts often give incentives for paying for hosting up front. With Stablehost, as I write this, if you want to sign up for 6 months or less, it will cost you $4.95 per month. However, if you pay for 36 months up front, it’ll only cost you $3.50 per month.
I recommend paying for as long a period as you feel comfortable with, as any discount you get from the coupon on my site will apply to the amount you are paying now. I’ll select 36 months to show you.
You need to choose here is the hosting location. You can choose from Phoenix, Amsterdam, Chicago and Stockholm. Your website will be served from the server in the location you choose, so select the place closest to where you think your target audience is located. If you are unsure, just select Phoenix.
You don’t need to buy the SSH Access in your package, so click the remove button to delete that.
Further down the screen, you’ll see the total to pay now:

As you can see, the full cost for 36 months hosting is 126.00. However, remember that coupon code. Enter that in the coupon code box on the page and click the Apply button. After a few seconds, your shopping cart will be updated showing a 40% discount on the total:
The above screenshot shows that the promotional code would save over $50 on this hosting package.
Instead of costing $126.00, it’s just $75.60!
Go through to the checkout and pay for your hosting.
It may take a few hours for your hosting to be set up. Once it is, the host will email you with login details for your cPanel (which you’ll need for setting up WordPress). You will also have login details for your “Client Login”, and it’s in there you can get support if you need it.
The other thing you’ll get in your welcome email is the Server information. This is what you are looking for:
There are two Nameservers. If you are using Stablehost, they’ll be the same as in the screenshot above.
